Check Your Current IP

Select the button to check your connection's public IP address through an external lookup service.

What Is an IP Address?

An IP address identifies a connection on the internet. A VPN or proxy can make the displayed public address differ from your underlying connection.

Privacy

Your browser contacts ipify directly to determine the public IP. Utilook does not transmit or store the returned IP in its server, database, or logs.

Public and private addresses

This page reports the public address visible to an internet service. Addresses used inside a home or office network, such as common private IPv4 ranges, are not the same as the public address translated by a router or carrier network.

Why the value can change

Many providers assign addresses dynamically. Reconnecting, switching mobile networks, enabling a VPN, or moving between IPv4 and IPv6 can change the result. The lookup identifies a connection endpoint, not a precise person or physical location.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is this different from the IP I expected?

VPNs, proxies, workplace networks, and carrier NAT can change the public address visible to websites.

Does this support IPv6?

Yes. If your connection uses IPv6, the IPv6 address and version are displayed.

Is my IP address stored?

Utilook does not store the IP in a database, file, or log. During the lookup, ipify necessarily sees the connection address of the request.
