Random String Generator
Create batches of test strings with your chosen length and character set.
Generated strings
When a string is more useful than a number or UUID
Use this for fixture labels, sample CSV code columns and input-length tests that need a particular alphabet and length. Random Number Generator fits numeric ranges; UUID Generator fits standard identifier formats.
Reading a batch and its alphabet
The example settings use ABC, length 4 and count 3. A valid result has three four-character rows containing only A, B and C, as illustrated below. The next batch may differ and rows may repeat.
Custom AABC is treated as the same alphabet as ABC. Repeating A does not give it extra weight. This version does not accept spaces, Korean characters or emoji in a custom alphabet.
Input: ABC / length 4 / count 3
One possible result:
ABCA
CCAB
BACC
Random source and practical limits
The tool uses this browser’s crypto.getRandomValues and rejects some byte values to avoid favoring characters through a simple remainder operation. If the browser cannot supply random values, it reports an error without leaving a result or recording a successful run.
A batch is limited to 100 strings of up to 256 characters each. Once you copy or save the output, you are responsible for those copies. The tool does not guarantee account-level uniqueness or the suitability of real credentials.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will every string include both letters and numbers?
Not necessarily. Each position is sampled independently, so a string may contain only letters or only digits. Minimum counts for character categories are not enforced.
Can a generated string appear again?
Yes. Rows are not deduplicated, and a small alphabet or short length makes repeats more likely. Consider UUID Generator when you need fixed-format identifiers.
Should I use these as real passwords or API keys?
This tool is intended for test strings. Create real credentials through a password manager that follows the target system’s requirements or its official key-issuing feature.
